Why atgatg? The DNA letters ATG are the "start codon" that may indicate the start of a gene. A stop codon is coded by the letters TGA, TAG, TAA. The RNA polymerase is moseying along, aimless, until it sees "START." Sometimes it needs to see START again -- like "Start already!!"
I've been wondering: why blog? To fight entropy. Being alive is an astonishing violation of entropy. Better to try to push that a little farther. Better to do it with others. Doing something good requires energy. Will this be any good, or just more dissipative energy? I don't know, but I also don't like thinking that I am going through life turning food into heat, burning up all those little ATPs in my head, keeping all my thoughts to myself. It's firefly season as I start this. The fireflies hover at dusk, dipping their butts a little and turning on the light. They are trying to communicate. (No, my butt doesn't glow. Don't ask again.)
